Arm/leg warmers
From family in Korea, I received the cutest winter coat, with lots of feminine details such as ruffle bottom and sleeves, glitter, and 3/4 sleeves. I like to tie the belt in a Korean knot (saw a coat worn that way in a Korean movie once).
While the coat is a lighter winter coat not meant for real winter weather (perfect for Georgia), sometimes it does get cold and I still wanted to be able to wear it on mornings when I have to scrape frost off my windshield.
I thought of arm warmers. I found a pattern I liked (Lion Brand pattern #60159) and worked it with split Red Heart worsted weight yarn (see my post on budget knitting). When I wear them outside on a cold Georgia winter day, I layer them over my gloves.
Over Christmas break, it got chilly in my office, as it regularly does. They absolutely cannot figure out the heating and cooling of our building. My legs were getting particularly cold and I was thinking "if only I had a blanket, that would be perfect", when I glanced at my arm warmers, sitting on a shelf. I had an idea. Would the arm warmers work on my legs? Stick the thumbs in, and lo and behold, leg warmers! Hello, comfort!
