Ruffle knit skirt

After a failed attempt at a skirt from Berroco, I was left with the desire to make another skirt. It's done! That's Tontongi in the background, all grown up.

[11/08/2017 Update] While snooping around on Pinterest, I found this skirt from Ravelry, similar in design (though fancier, with cables)

As advertised, I used my classic skirt pattern, but I went with a ruffle bottom instead of a plain ribbed hem. I had a lot of extra yarn left.

The instructions start out just like the skirt for my red skirt suit, except keep going on the same number of stitches until the skirt hits above the knee. Switch to needles 2 sizes smaller and work an increase round:

*K1, right leaning increase and left leaning increase in the same stitch*, repeat.

Work as many rounds with the smaller needles as strikes your fantasy, then set up for the hem:

Purl one round, K an additional 6 rounds. Bind off loosely.

Finishing:

At the waist same as for the red skirt. for the bottom hem, turn the hem at the purl row and sew the hem.

If you like, you can exploit the row of eyelets you get at the top of the ruffle, where you worked the increase row, and thread a ribbon through, for a super-feminine skirt.

And here it is, as a set with the poncho
