Leg warmers avec froufrous

I knitted up some leg warmers to reduce my stash.

The pattern is straight from ravelry.com. Aside from the color, there are some differences in the finishing. Since I was using black yarn, I had to go with white buttons. While I was at it, I also crochetted a row of ruffles.  For more on what I like to do with ruffle yarn see the label by the same name.

The leg warmers are worked as rectangles. They hold at the knee tighter through the use of smaller needles to work the ribbed edge. The pattern is super easy. The only difficulty/pain are the button holes and the buttons to sew on. Luckily, my legs are shorter than the model's so I only needed 6 buttons.

As we head into late winter in Pennsylvania, leg warmers are a nice versatile addition to a collection of winter accessories to keep warm when needed.
