Finished: Lana Gatto Super Soft Shaped Cable Pullover
I just finished this sweater, from an old pattern I had. It may be for sale somewhere, so this is a pattern I cannot share. I followed it pretty much to the letter, adjusting for my gauge and on some vertical scaling. It was rather unnerving to try on the finished product. This is a sweater that has enormous elasticity and what is called negative ease. It did not look like it would be big enough to wear. On the other hand, it is also forgiving on size since it stretches and retracts so much. I used about two skeins of Bernat Baby Coordinates.
I could have casted on fewer stitches at the bottom, though the little flare is kind of cute (and good to de-emphasize a tummy). I am not a fan of the rolled collar. Mine is less rigid than the model because I used yarn that was less bulky. So it rolls too much. It would be relatively easy to undo just the collar and finish the sweater differently. I will have to think about it. While the sweater looks warm, it is actually suited for mild weather. I was comfortable wearing it today, on a beautiful spring like day. The color is such that it could work as a summer sweater. I will have to see how it combines with my spring and summer wardrobe.
