Teal blazer VI - supply shopping trip!
I have finished all the knitted pieces of the blazer and now it is time for assembly and finishing. I had lunch with a friend and then went shopping for fabric and notions.
My first stop was at JoAnn's, where I found trimming. The service for that simple purchase was way below par, so I did not stick around to buy fabric for the lining. This was my first time doing a serious fabric purchase and I needed a helpful, friendly clerk for that.
Next I went to Walmart to grab some groceries. I swung by the fabric department but there was very little choice there. I was not too hopeful to begin with.
I tried Michael's across the street, but it's more of a craft store. I did not even find the right selection of hook and eye closures. I walked out empty handed.
Hobby Lobby is where the magic happened. I immediately found someone at the fabric department who sewed. She showed me the kind of fabric she liked to use for lining and helped me lay out my pieces on top to determine the amount to purchase. We talked about sewing and knitting. I also found some hook and eye closures that I may or may not end up using. I have not quite solved the fastening part of the project.
