Teal blazer X - Embellishing
Today I finished embellishing the blazer with the decorative ribbon I bought for that purpose.
I started at one side seam of the blazer and attached it all the way around, using matching thread and a slip stitch. When working with a non-elastic ribbon on top of knitting, watch out for tension. Utilize the ribbon to get the edges of the garment to hold the shape you intend. Watch in particular that the garment does end up symmetric and that nothing gets stuck in crumpled or stretched position. For the sleeves, I utilized the ribbon to tighten up the wrists. Though don't tighten up to the point you can't get the hands through anymore. With this particular type, I also struggled with fraying. The finishing at the seams is not as nice as I wanted but I'll live.
I really like the finish. I think it gives the blazer an exotic look. I enjoyed wearing it for the photo shoot as fall is in the air in north east Pennsylvania. I can tell it's going to keep me warm. I have to work up the courage to do the lining. With proper closures (still to add), this is already a presentable, comfortable piece of clothing.
